Broken Relic - Final Demo
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
THE STORY
On your first day as an apprentice at the Nytheris Archive, you accidentally unleash an ancient force that was meant to stay sealed forever. Ooops!
Now, with the world teetering on the brink, it's up to you to piece together the remnants of a shattered relic and set things right.
Explore a world filled with strange characters, forgotten ruins, and puzzles. Follow the clues. Trust your instincts... and try not to make things worse.
Broken Relic invites you to navigate a crumbling world, uncovering its secrets one strange step at a time. You may not be the hero it needs. But you're what it’s got.
What to expect:
- Fully voiced dialogue with a world full of unusual people.
- A handcrafted pixel art world filled with details and secrets.
- Nonlinear exploration across connected regions.
- No fail states, no pixel hunting, no filler.

wonderful game!
I get the feeling Danny's going to want to play this once it fully releases.
Who's Danny?
Danny Sexbang? Aka Dan Avidan? Co-host of Game Grumps? The 'Not so grump' to Arin Hanson's 'grump' ? Voice of an Angel and lead singer of NSP?
Anyways, Danny loves King's Quest, and this is heavily giving King's Quest vibes, so i had to comment
Wouldnt mind if Danny from Game Grumps would play my game tbh hehe

Really loved the pixelart! Ngl this game has a great potential, waiting for the full release..
But the discord link is not working, i've tried to join :(
Oh! I will double check the link! You can use this meanwhile! https://discord.gg/6tT4h764h6
Will it also release on itch or just steam?
both places!
Cool! Just finished demo, looks really good. Minor potential addon, could double click to place be run, its a bit slow to wait for walk across the screen. Will pick it up when released.
It's pretty awesome so far, can't wait.
Really nice project! Looking forward to see it launch!
Spent an embarrassing about of time trying to hold left click to drag items instead of clicking on them once and trusting the game to keep the item selected for dragging. This didn't work, since holding the mouse click will close inventory and make it impossible to have inventory items interact with one another.
I figured it out in the end but thought I'd share this in case anyone else has a similar problem.
Oh! I used to have it like that in the past and people complained about it so I changed to click! I can add it as a setting for people to choose what they prefer!
Ooh making it a setting could be cool.
So fun to play! I love the art
Nice game, loved the art and the story!
Great humour, nice music, nice story and I'd like to play more.
Well done!

nice game
Damn. This is great!
Totally beautiful artwork! Nitpick: Always wish the sprite scaling wouldn’t mix resolutions (pixel size), looks jarring.
Thank you! And I agree on the pixel sizes, it happens when the character scales down, because the game is actually 1080p, it doesnt "crunch" the pixels like if it was done in its native resolution (380x200). I'm trying to see if there are ways to solve it, but cant make any promises seeing that Thimbleweed Park did it in the same way and didnt find a way to solve it :(
Literally the only way to avoid pixel scaling is to make a completely different spritesheet for every level of zoom, then make a function that switches spritesheet based on characters Y axis. It would increase your workload by a TON. Not worth it imo
Played the demo and had fun (I was surprised at the voice acting and how much I enjoyed it). I found it funny how you mixed the fantasy genre with modern elements like the coffee machine and the mention of online ordering. Wishlisted on Steam :')
thank you very much!! <3
I saw that coffee station and my heart skipped a beat once again :P
Looking forward to the full release! Thank you for the final demo!
thank you for playing and for making a video!! I will watch it tonight! :D
Like!
Me encantó el demo del juego. No puedo esperar al lanzamiento completo. Añadiendolo en mi wishlist de steam!
Muchisimas gracias!!!
Launch the full game. I can't wait,,
Thank you very much for playing!!! super happy to see that you enjoyed it!
I really enjoyed playing the demo as it took me back to the Lucas Art type games that I loved growing up.
My gameplay
Thank you very much for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
What are the keyboard and mouse defaults?
Left click interact with objet (and walk), right click open inventory
Space bar show hotspots
Esc is also needed, but that's okay. ; )
I can tell that the artist involved really knew what they were doing. The whole thing looks as professional as possible. The menus are nice and big, so it's easy to play in a living room, like a console game.
The amount of console-ness doesn't end there. It looks as though the game has a completely cooperative relationship with JoyToKey software, and therefore, it's compatible with hundreds of controllers. It meets the criteria for appearing on my new site, conflexgames.com
Thank you very much! As a solo dev doing this in my free time I really appreciate it!
Ц настілько добре та олдово що я просто в шоці. Сподіваюсь буде переклад українською.
Thank you very much for your video! I really appreciate it! And even if the demo is in english I will try to translate the full game to as many languages as possible!
